Honeywell Air Duct Cleaning in Houston: What to Know First

Honeywell air duct cleaning in Houston runs $450 – $950 for a full system in a typical 2,000 – 2,500 sq ft home, and we complete most jobs in 4 – 6 hours. We’re an independent Honeywell service provider, not an authorized dealer, and we price the job before we touch the ductwork. If you own a Honeywell whole-home system and haven’t had the ducts cleaned in five years or more, this page tells you what to expect, what it costs, and why the work matters in Houston’s specific climate. Call (713) 936-5800 for a written estimate.

How Honeywell Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

Honeywell makes the air handler, the filtration cabinet, the zoning controls, and the media filters. What fails in Houston isn’t usually the Honeywell equipment itself. It’s the ductwork attached to it, loaded with the particular mess our humidity and construction dust create. Here’s what we see on Honeywell jobs across Houston:

  • Honeywell TrueCLEAN and F300 electronic air cleaner cabinets feeding dirty return ducts. These units trap a lot of particulate on the collecting cells. But when the return duct upstream hasn’t been cleaned in a decade, fine Houston dust keeps loading the cells, the efficiency drops, and the homeowner assumes the Honeywell unit is failing. We clean the return side fully before we touch the media. In seven of ten cases, the “failing” electronic cleaner starts working again because the duct load downstream isn’t re-contaminating it every cycle.
  • Honeywell media filter cabinets (F100/F200 series) with bypass air from leaking duct joints. A 4-inch Honeywell media filter is only as good as the seal around the housing. When the supply plenum has gaps, attic dust gets pulled in around the filter, so the homeowner changes a $40 MERV 11 media every four months and still sees dust on furniture. Houston attics are notoriously dusty. We inspect the filter housing and attached ductwork with a camera, seal the bypass points, and clean the supply runs. The filter then does what Honeywell built it to do.
  • Honeywell TrueZONE panels driving high static pressure through dirty coil-adjacent ductwork. Zoned systems run half the house at a time, which pushes higher air velocity through fewer open dampers. When the attached ducts have even moderate buildup, that velocity stirs particulate that settles on the Honeywell damper blades and the zone panel’s pressure sensor reads intermittently. We’ve seen TrueZONE systems cycling dampers erratically in Sugar Land and Katy homes solely because dirty ducts were increasing static pressure. A full clean restores normal operation without touching the panel.
  • Honeywell HEPA portable units paired with systems that have never had source contamination removed. Some Houston owners run a Honeywell HPA300 in a bedroom and assume that offsets the rest of the house. It doesn’t. A portable HEPA filters what passes through it, but if the supply ducts are pushing Texas dust at 400 CFM, the portable unit is fighting the HVAC, not helping it. We clean the source. The portable HEPA then becomes what it should be: extra polishing, not the primary defense.
  • Older Honeywell humidity controls and HRV/ERV tie-ins where the duct cleaning reveals the real issue. Honeywell’s TrueDRY and Prestige IAQ systems are common in newer Houston construction. When owners report musty air even after we clean the ducts, we use a video inspection to check whether the ERV core is saturated or the TrueDRY drain pan is holding water. We’ll flag it, fix what’s in our scope, and tell you who to call for what isn’t. No mystery, no upsell.

Our Honeywell Air Duct Cleaning Process

Every Honeywell job in Houston follows the same sequence. Here’s the actual order of work, from the first call to the walkthrough:

  1. 1
Written estimate before we arrive. Call (713) 936-5800. We ask about square footage, number of returns, system type, and when the ducts were last cleaned. You get a price range in writing before the crew ever pulls up. That price does not move at the door.
  2. 2
Walkthrough and pressure check. The technician arrives uniformed and background-checked. We inspect the air handler, the Honeywell filter cabinet, the supply plenum, and the return drops. We check static pressure with a manometer because dirty ducts and oversized systems show themselves there first.
  3. 3
Camera inspection. We run a video probe through the return and supply runs before cleaning. You see what we see. Most Houston homes we service have never had a camera in the ducts, and the footage usually explains the dust load immediately.
  4. 4
Negative-air cleaning with rotary brush agitation. We use a Nikro negative-air machine or equivalent to put the ductwork under vacuum while a Rotobrush rotary brush knocks the debris loose. The vacuum keeps the dust from entering living space. Every register is sealed during the process. The Honeywell filter media is removed and cleaned or replaced per manufacturer spec, and we always leave a clean filter in the cabinet.
  5. 5
Post-cleaning camera verification and pressure recheck. We run the camera again so you can see the before and after. Static pressure is re-measured. If it hasn’t dropped where it should, we don’t hand you an invoice and walk. We find the remaining restriction.
  6. 6
Written report and the 365-Day Done Right Promise. You get a written summary of what was cleaned, what we found, and what we recommend. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work for a full year. If something we cleaned fails to hold, we come back at no charge, including a free second visit.

What Honeywell Air Duct Cleaning Costs in Houston

Straight numbers, because we don’t do vague estimates:

  • Single return, single story, up to 1,500 sq ft: $450 – $650
  • Two-story, two returns, 2,000 – 2,500 sq ft: $600 – $850
  • Two AC units or zoned TrueZONE system: $800 – $1,100
  • Add duct sealing with mastic on accessible joints: $300 – $600 depending on how much is exposed
  • Video inspection as a standalone service: $150, credited to the cleaning if you proceed

What moves the price: number of returns, how much attic access, whether flex duct has collapsed and needs replacement or just cleaning, and how long it’s been since the last service. A 1992 house in the Energy Corridor with original metal duct will take longer than a 2018 build in Cypress. Call (713) 936-5800 and we’ll give you a firm number in writing before you commit.

Why Houston Homeowners Call Hollis Air Duct Houston for Honeywell Work

Roy Castellanos runs this crew, and he runs it by The Garrison Code: arrive inside the quoted window, price in writing, do the job by the book, leave the site clean. No bait-and-switch numbers, no technician inventing problems at the kitchen table. We’ve been cleaning ducts in Houston since 2004, long enough to know what this city’s humidity does to duct interiors and long enough to read a Honeywell system without guessing. We also service Lennox, Trane, and Carrier equipment, so we see the differences between brands and we know where Honeywell’s filtration sits relative to the rest. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means if our cleaning fails to hold for a year, we come back. That’s written on every invoice. Clean air doesn’t announce itself – you just stop noticing the problem.
